George van Niekerk

George van Niekerk is an Executive at ENS in the Dispute Resolution practice. He specialises in Dispute Resolution, with a focus on commercial litigation, acting for listed and large private companies.

George represents clients in regard to exchange control issues with the South African Reserve Bank, and concerning regulatory issues with the Financial Services Conduct Authority. He has extensive experience in insurance law, including claims under directors' & officers' liability, professional indemnity and public liability policies. He also advises clients on anti-corruption measures and pursues and defends criminal prosecutions in instances of significant white collar crime.

He previously served as Councillor and Vice-President of the Cape Law Society, Commissioner of the Small Claims Court, member of the Board of Control of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund, and chairman of the committee having oversight of the overall spending of both the Law Society of South Africa and the Attorneys Fidelity Fund. He is the former chairman of the Contingency Fees committee of the Law Society of South Africa, and a Councillor of the Western Cape Legal Practice Council.

He holds a BA and an LLB from Stellenbosch University and is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He is recognised as a leading lawyer by Chambers Global Guide, The Legal 500 EMEA and Best Lawyers for Dispute Resolution and Insurance.
