Derek Wanblad

Derek Wanblad is an Executive in the Dispute Resolution practice at ENS, specialising in commercial litigation in the High Court, as well as commercial arbitration and mediation. He advises international and South African corporate clients on contractual and shareholder disputes, board reorganisations, administrative law tender disputes, and financial services regulatory issues, with extensive experience in mining litigation, fraud recovery, interdicts, and property law‑related disputes.

He also has experience in insurance litigation, employment law, and health and safety law. He has acted for clients across a broad range of high‑value commercial disputes and regulatory matters, delivering strategic legal solutions in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings.

He holds a BA and LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Higher Diploma in Insolvency Practice (cum laude). He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and is recognised by Best Lawyers® for Litigation (2021‑2023).
