Chibie Odimegwu

Chibie Odimegwu is a Senior Associate in the Private Equity Practice of the Corporate Department, based in the Johannesburg office, practicing in the firm's Mergers and Acquisitions practice. She has experience working on a variety of M&A and private equity transactions, including advising clients on domestic and cross-border transactions, drafting main transaction documents, conducting due diligence investigations, and attending to general corporate governance matters.

Ms. Odimegwu has acted as local counsel for Maersk A/S on its acquisition of Senator International Spedition and Senator International Holding, acted for Barloworld Transport on the sale of shares in its subsidiaries to Bakers Transport, and assisted a leading fund and property manager in the affordable housing sector with the first closing of its multi-jurisdictional real estate investment fund. She has also acted as local counsel for a global provider of security products in a global restructuring of its group of companies.

She holds a BCom and an LLB (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand. She has been recognized by Legal 500 as a Leading Associate for Investment Funds in South Africa (2026).
