Andries Myburgh

Andries Myburgh is an Executive and Head of ENS's Tax practice, specialising in Tax Advisory Law. He advises companies across various industries on the tax implications applicable to a broad range of transactions, including corporate restructures, mergers and acquisitions (tax due diligence and tax‑efficient structuring), private equity transactions, and financing arrangements.

Andries has particular expertise in tax‑efficient structuring of B‑BBEE investment and ownership transactions, and extensive industry experience in the mining sector, advising on domestic and international corporate tax, mining tax and mineral royalty matters. He also assists companies in responding to SARS audits, objections and appeals, and has acted as an ad hoc member of the sub‑committee on mining of the Davis Tax Committee. Prior to joining ENS in 2013, he was a tax partner at KPMG for 15 years, where he headed the Corporate Tax and Energy and Natural Resources Tax practices.

Andries holds a BCom (Law) and an LL.B. from North‑West University, an MCom (South African and International Tax) from the University of Johannesburg, and has completed additional certifications in VAT, prospecting and mining law, and tax procedural law. He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a registered tax practitioner.
