Alison Mellon

Alison Mellon is a Knowledge Lawyer in the Banking and Finance practice at Bowmans in Cape Town, specializing in Banking and Finance Law. She focuses on knowledge asset development, thought leadership, technical legal training, legal technology and innovation, and client value‑added services in relation to banking and financial services.

Prior to her knowledge lawyer role, Alison worked as a senior associate in Bowmans' finance practice, advising on secured and syndicated lending, preference share funding, and leveraged finance. She has also worked as in‑house counsel at one of South Africa's largest asset managers.

She holds a B.A. (cum laude) and an LL.B. (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town, and a National Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments. She is admitted to the Law Society of South Africa.
