Yolande Murphy

Yolande Murphy is a Senior Associate at Bowmans' Cape Town office, practising in the firm's Finance practice, with experience across leveraged finance, general corporate finance, real estate finance, syndicated lending, sustainable finance, cross-border finance, debt restructuring, stream financing, preference share funding, structured finance and project finance.

She has acted for financial institutions, banks and borrowers on a wide range of complex transactions. Notable matters include advising Sanlam Life Insurance Limited on a USD 110 million English-law governed facility to Climate Aggregator B.V. backed by a EUR 205 million EU guarantee; advising Absa Bank Limited on the formation of the African Rainbow Energy Fund Partnership, involving the transfer of project financing loan facilities of up to ZAR 5 billion; acting for FirstRand Bank (RMB) on the ZAR 4.2 billion acquisition finance for Old Mutual Private Equity's acquisition of Long4Life; advising RMB and Nedbank on a ZAR 634 million multi-tiered funding package for a property acquisition; and acting for Optasia on a USD 175 million funding package for expansion in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has also advised on sustainability-linked financing, cross-border security packages, and preference share refinancings aggregating ZAR 4.1 billion.
