Wim Steyn

Wim Steyn is an Executive in the Dispute Resolution practice at ENS, specialising in commercial and civil litigation, arbitration, and mediation. He assists national and international, listed and unlisted companies, and individuals in various forums, including arbitrations, mediations, the Magistrates' Court, the High Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal, and the Constitutional Court.

His civil practice covers shareholders' disputes, irregular tenders, director liability, contractual disputes, trust law, and the application of legislation including the National Credit Act and the Consumer Protection Act. His criminal practice focuses on white‑collar crime, fraud and corruption, as well as culpable homicide, driving under the influence, and high‑profile murder matters. He currently assists clients with major investigations by the Special Investigating Unit, market abuse complaints (price manipulation and insider trading), the “failure to prevent corrupt activities” offence, and tender irregularities.

Wim holds a BCom (Law) (Cum Laude) and LLB from Stellenbosch University, and has completed certificates in Artificial Intelligence and Bitcoin, Cannabis Law, and Fintech for Lawyers from the University of Cape Town. He is admitted as a Legal Practitioner (Attorney) of the High Court of South Africa.
