Trevor Versfeld

Trevor Versfeld is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, with over 30 years of experience specialising in arbitration, corporate and commercial litigation, and the case management of complex disputes. He has expertise in international and domestic commercial arbitrations, company law, contractual, constitutional, administrative law, and pensions law, advising a range of local and international clients including major banks, mining companies, and corporates.

He has been responsible for the case management of numerous complex and high‑profile disputes and has provided litigation support in mergers and acquisitions, forensic investigations, and the restructuring of distressed businesses. He is recognised as a leading practitioner in arbitration and dispute resolution, having been named by Chambers Global (2010‑2026), Best Lawyers (2014‑2026) — including Lawyer of the Year for Arbitration and Mediation 2022 — and Legal 500 (2012‑2025), where he is included in their Hall of Fame and the Africa Arbitration Powerlist 2021. He has also been listed by Who's Who Legal (2013‑2015) for Asset Recovery.
