Siphile Hlwatika

Siphile Hlwatika is a Senior Associate in the firm's Employment practice at ENS, practicing in Employment Law. He specialises in employment litigation and general employment law, acting for clients across a wide range of industries in both the public and private sectors, including agricultural, automotive manufacturing, aviation, FMCG, construction, energy, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, mining, retail, and telecommunications.

His experience includes advising on collective bargaining, employment equity, industrial action, organisational rights, pension funds, transfers of employment under section 197 of the LRA, unfair discrimination, unfair labour practices, and unfair dismissals. He assists and represents clients in disciplinary proceedings and employment-related litigation before the CCMA, various bargaining councils, the Labour Court, and the Labour Appeal Court. He also chairs disciplinary hearings and conducts investigations, drafting reports in relation thereto.

Siphile holds an LLB from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, an LLM in Labour Law (cum laude), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law Practice (cum laude) from Nelson Mandela University. He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
