Selisha Govender

Selisha Govender is an Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in energy law, infrastructure projects, and project finance. She advises local clients on domestic transactions, including the financing, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects in Africa, working on both the project development and finance sides of transactions for lenders and sponsors in the renewable energy sector.

Selisha has acted for the lenders, comprising Standard Bank, Absa, Nedbank, Vantage GreenX Note III, and Third Way Investment Partners, in connection with the Notsi Solar PV Project, currently the largest solar photovoltaic project in South Africa, involving a complex multi-offtaker wheeling arrangement. She has also advised Black Mountain Mining on a long-term renewable energy customer power purchase agreement supporting the energy security and sustainability objectives of a key mining operation in the Northern Cape. Her expertise includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating project-related contracts, conducting due diligence investigations, and managing corporate documentation and conditions precedent processes.

Selisha holds an LL.B (Cum Laude) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
