Nerina Erasmus

Nerina Erasmus is a Partner at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in energy law, infrastructure projects, and cross‑border mergers and acquisitions. She practices international M&A with a particular focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors, with extensive experience across the entire lifecycle of energy projects – from setting up renewable energy platforms and joint ventures to the disposal of ready‑to‑build and operational assets and portfolios.

Nerina has advised Railways Pension Trustee Company Limited on its acquisition of a 25% interest in Verdis; UCED on its acquisition of GGE a.s; Lightsource bp on its disposal of a portfolio of 58 operational assets; Ørsted on its phased investment into One Earth Solar Farm and on its acquisition of a majority stake in the 100MW Salamander floating offshore wind project; Creditas Assets on its acquisition of InterGen Projects (UK) Ltd; Ampyr Idea AssetCo UK Ltd on various acquisitions of early stage solar projects; and CNG Fuels Ltd on an initial GBP 80 million funding by Foresight Group in a joint venture to build a nationwide network of refuelling stations for heavy goods vehicles (which won the IJ Global ESG Transport Deal of the Year 2021). She also has experience in private equity and general corporate and commercial law within the UK, European, and African markets.

Nerina holds a BAccLL.B from Stellenbosch University and an LL.M in Corporate Law (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria. She is a Solicitor of England and Wales.
