Rivoningo Chauke

Rivoningo Chauke is a Senior Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, and corporate governance. She advises on complex acquisitions, disposals, and equity capital markets transactions, providing end-to-end support across legal due diligence, transaction structuring and documentation, regulatory compliance, and post-closing integration, with experience across energy and resources, mining, FMCG, transport, fintech, and telecommunications sectors.

Rivoningo has advised Standard Bank Limited on Channel VAS Investments Limited's listing on the JSE Prime Segment, involving a primary issuance of approximately ZAR 1.3 billion and a secondary offering of at least ZAR 5 billion to private investors; Rand Merchant Bank on Cell C Limited's listing on the JSE Prime Segment, a transaction valued at ZAR 4.1 billion; Assmang Proprietary Limited on the disposal of the Cato Ridge Works site and related immovable properties, valued at approximately ZAR 453 million; the Peermont Group on a potential acquisition by Sun International; and as local counsel to Brazilian group WEG on their acquisition of the industrial motors and generators business from Regal Rexnord Corporation for USD 400 million in a competitive auction process involving 18 jurisdictions.

Rivoningo holds a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of Pretoria and an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is an admitted attorney and notary of the High Court of South Africa.
