Palesa Marobela

Palesa Marobela is an Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in banking and finance law and project finance. She advises lenders and borrowers on complex financing transactions, including syndicated facilities, equity funding solutions, and cross-border financings.

Palesa has advised Nedbank Ltd and Absa Ltd on a R2.6 billion equity funding solution to H1 Holdings, including the legal aspects of H1's acquisition of Pele Green Energy's equity, resulting in H1 obtaining full ownership of the H1 Pele Wind investment vehicle. She has also advised The Standard Bank of South Africa Ltd and FirstRand Bank Ltd on a syndicated ZAR 4 billion facility made available to Seriti Power for the reorganization of the Seriti Group and establishment of its green energy company; FirstRand Bank Limited on term loan facilities of up to USD 40,000,000 to a Kenyan company for refinancing and capital expenditure; and The Standard Bank of South Africa Ltd on USD 11,500,000 multicurrency facilities provided to the Enko Education group for acquisitions, working capital, and business development.

Palesa holds an LL.B from the University of Pretoria and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
