Kenneth Coster

Kenneth Coster is a Partner based in Johannesburg. His primary practice area is Employment Law, and he specialises in all aspects of employment and occupational health and safety (OHS) law.

He has acted for and represented a range of employers in significant labour law disputes before South African employment tribunals, the Labour Court and the Labour Appeal Court. His expertise extends to assisting and advising clients through several significant and complex collective bargaining disputes, including demarcation disputes and essential service matters.

He also advises and acts for leading mining, construction and engineering corporations on OHS compliance, health and safety investigations and inquiries before the relevant OHS regulators according to significant health and safety occurrences.

His recognition includes being named by Best Lawyers 2021–2026 as a leading individual and by Legal 500 2017–2018 as a legal expert (Employment). He has sat as an Acting Judge in the Labour Court of South Africa.

He holds an LLB (2003) and a BA (2000) from the University of the Witwatersrand and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
