Kelly Calvert-Evers

Kelly Calvert-Evers is a Senior Associate in the Litigation Practice within the Dispute Resolution Department at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specializing in Dispute Resolution. She has experience in general commercial litigation, contractual and delictual claims, constitutional and administrative law, as well as employment, pensions, and benefits issues.

Kelly has assisted a multinational corporation against the South African Government in respect of lockdown regulations, defended a leading South African retailer in an equal pay dispute, and acted for a large state‑owned company in an urgent application for restraint and preservation orders following findings of corrupt activities by an employee. She also represented the Public Servants Association of South Africa in its appeal to the Constitutional Court, and acted for Old Mutual in litigation against its previous chief executive officer, including successfully defending his ZAR 250 million damages claim. Her experience includes both trial and motion proceedings, as well as private commercial arbitration.

She holds BA and LL.B degrees from the University of Cape Town and is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
