Karabo Mahlangu

Karabo Mahlangu is an Associate in the Banking and Finance Department at Bowmans' Johannesburg office, focusing on general finance transactions.

She advises lenders and borrowers on debt restructurings, secured and syndicated finance, fund financing, real estate financing, corporate and structured finance, acquisition finance and preference share funding. She also has experience in debt capital market transactions, including the establishment of domestic medium term note programmes and notes issuances. Notable matters include advising a syndicate of lenders on the restructuring of the debt package for a large South African retailer; advising The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited on financing for the acquisition of a facilities management company; advising Rand Merchant Bank on development and term loan facilities for the development of a data centre in Lagos, Nigeria; and advising on ZAR1 billion and ZAR1.1 billion notes issuances under domestic MTN programmes.

Karabo holds an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand.
