Giylah Liebenberg

Giylah Liebenberg is an Associate in the Finance practice, based in the Cape Town office. She has experience in general corporate finance, syndicated lending, sustainable finance, cross-border finance, preference share funding, real estate finance, and structured finance, advising financial institutions, banks, and borrowers on complex financing transactions.

Ms. Liebenberg has advised Standard Bank on a preference share subscription to refinance debt funding an equity stake in a portfolio of solar projects under South Africa's REIPPPP, a syndicate of financiers on the debt restructuring of Accelerate Property Fund (a significant REIT), and Coca-Cola Beverages Africa on its ZAR 24 billion debt raise across eight jurisdictions. Her work involves complex security packages, priority-of-payments arrangements, and multi-stakeholder coordination across parallel structures.

She holds an LLB (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University and an LLM in Commercial Law (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town, and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
