Deirdre Venter

Deirdre Venter is a Partner at Shepstone & Wylie's Johannesburg office, specialising in employment and labour law. She has extensive experience in all aspects of collective and individual labour law, including drafting employment contracts, disciplinary codes, and policies; CCMA arbitrations; and litigation before the Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court, and Constitutional Court.

She advises on corporate restructuring, collective bargaining, strikes, lock‑outs, discrimination law, sexual harassment, and disciplinary proceedings. She has previously been appointed as an acting judge of the Labour Court of South Africa on a pro bono basis.

Deirdre holds a B.Proc, LLB, and LLM from the University of KwaZulu‑Natal (UKZN), and is a PhD candidate.
