Bruce Dickinson

Bruce Dickinson is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in mining law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and the structuring of mining companies and projects. He advises various mining companies on their investments in Sub‑Saharan Africa and has been involved in transactions and projects in most key resource‑rich jurisdictions on the continent.

He has extensive experience in the development and operational aspects of mining projects and regularly advises on mining transactions, joint ventures, and regulatory compliance. He is a trustee of several trusts in the mining industry and has co‑authored the chapter on South Africa in “Minerals and Mining: A Practical Global Guide”. He is an accomplished international speaker and has addressed mining conferences and seminars in South Africa, Australia, Canada, and Zimbabwe, and is regularly approached for comment on the mining industry by various business and industry publications.

Bruce holds an LLB (1992) and a BA (1990) from the University of KwaZulu‑Natal, a Certificate in Prospecting and Mining Law from the University of the Witwatersrand (1996), a Higher Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments (2000), and completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test at BPP Professional Education (2008). He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and as a solicitor of England and Wales.
