Zinzi Lawrence

Zinzi Lawrence is an Executive at ENS in the Natural Resources and Environment practice. Her practice focuses on Mining Law, specialising in mining and environmental regulatory issues including upstream, midstream and downstream mining law and general environmental law.

She has acted for international and local clients as well as government entities and state-owned companies in the mining and mineral processing industry. Her experience includes mining and environmental due diligences, drafting service level agreements and various statutory applications under the National Environmental Management Act, 1998, the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002, and the Precious Metals Act, 2005.

Zinzi also advises clients on mining law aspects of M&A transactions, surface and land use arrangements, mining law disputes, and the registration and amendment of trusts, including environmental rehabilitation trusts.

She holds an LLB with Distinction and an LLM in Environmental Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, and is admitted as an attorney and notary of the High Court of South Africa. She is recognised by The Legal 500 EMEA as a Leading Associate for Mining in South Africa and by IFLR1000 as a Rising Star for Project Development: Mining.
