Ave Ralarala

Ave Ralarala is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department of the Johannesburg office and a member of the firm's Competition Law practice. She has experience in merger notifications and proceedings, including multi-jurisdictional mergers across Africa, as well as prohibited practices, competition litigation, exemption applications, and legal advisory work covering merger assessments, horizontal and vertical restrictive practices, abuse of dominance, excessive pricing, and price discrimination.

Ms. Ralarala has advised a diverse range of clients, including rail and pipeline companies, broadcasters, publishers, and multinational corporations. Her notable matters include advising International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), Longview Aviation Capital Corporation and Bombardier Inc. on merger clearances in South Africa, as well as advising Air Mauritius and the Day Hospital Association on exemption applications before the Competition Commission of South Africa.

Ave holds an LLB from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and has completed certificates in competition law and advanced company law from the University of the Witwatersrand.
