Andrew Bembridge

Andrew Bembridge is an Executive and Head of ENS's Real Estate/Property practice. His practice focuses on Real Estate Law.

He has acted for a number of notable mining companies, banks, property development companies and renewable energy companies.

Andrew has been involved in many major property transactions throughout Africa. His experience encompasses developments such as township proclamations, land use applications, water projects and renewable energy projects. His experience further extends to extensive commercial property transactions, involving immovable and movable property, the drafting of intricate agreements and the implementation of the transactions arising out of those agreements.

He also has extensive experience in the land rights and restitution laws of South Africa, assisting both land owners and communities, and has served as a member of the Johannesburg Attorneys Association Property Law Committee.

He holds a BCom from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, an LLB from the University of Cape Town and an HDip Tax from the University of the Witwatersrand, and is admitted as an attorney, conveyancer and notary public of the High Court of South Africa.

He is recognised by Chambers Global Guide for Real Estate in South Africa, by The Legal 500 EMEA in its Hall of Fame for Real Estate, and by Best Lawyers for Real Estate, having been named its Lawyer of the Year in 2020 and 2019.
