Ubenita Remmelien

Ubenita Remmelien is a Trainee Associate at ENS in the Public Law practice. Her practice focuses on Administrative Law.

Ubenita focuses on transactions and commercial activities within public and regulated legal frameworks. Her practice includes advising organs of state and state-owned entities on governance, public-private partnerships (PPPs) and commercial transactions, with particular emphasis on compliance with the Public Finance Management Act, the Municipal Finance Management Act, the Companies Act and related regulations.

She regularly advises state-owned entities on statutory and regulatory obligations and assists private sector clients operating in regulated industries in their engagements with organs of state.

Her experience includes commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, having been involved in disputes before the Magistrates' Courts and High Courts. Her litigation practice spans a range of commercial entities.

In addition, Ubenita is also experienced in commercial arbitration and litigation, where she assisted with large commercial arbitrations and litigation for corporate entities.

She holds an LLB from the University of the Free State and is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
