Tahera Cassim

Tahera Cassim is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in banking and finance law. She advises on bilateral and syndicated loans, acquisition and leveraged finance, preference share finance, debt restructuring, and debt refinancing, and has extensive experience in general corporate and commercial law.

She has represented clients across a range of financing transactions, advising on structuring, documentation, and regulatory compliance. She is recognised as a leading individual by Best Lawyers (2022–2026) and as a legal expert by Legal 500 (2025).

Tahera holds an LLM (Tax Law) from the University of the Witwatersrand (2007), a Higher Diploma in Company Law from the University of the Witwatersrand (2003), an LLB from Rand Afrikaans University (2000), and a B.Proc from Rand Afrikaans University (1999). She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
