Sivuyise Lutshiti

Sivuyise Lutshiti is a Senior Associate in the Competition practice at Bowmans' Cape Town office, focusing on merger control and behavioural matters across multiple African jurisdictions.

He has assisted clients with cross-border mergers requiring notification in South Africa, Botswana, COMESA, Namibia, Kenya and Tanzania, and spent six months on secondment in the competition law department at Bowmans' Kenya office. Notable transactions include acting as local counsel to Slaughter and May on the Allianz and Sanlam African joint venture, assisting Kirkland & Ellis on multiple cross-border transactions including Vista Equity Partners' acquisition of Citrix Systems and TIBCO Software, and acting for a consortium of private equity buyers on the Angola, Nigeria and Tanzania aspects of their take-private of Aggreko Plc. He has also appeared before the South African Competition Tribunal for approval of large mergers and acted for respondents in investigations by the South African Competition Commission.

Sivuyise holds an LL.B from the University of the Western Cape and is a member of the Legal Practice Council.
