Savanna Stephens

Savanna Stephens is a Senior Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in data protection and privacy law, technology law, and regulatory compliance. She advises local and multinational companies on commercial contracts, IT transactions, and regulatory compliance across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, emerging tech, hospitality, retail, media, and manufacturing.

Savanna has advised on IT licensing, distribution and franchising agreements, data breaches, e-commerce, fintech, and mobile technologies. Her experience includes secondments to data protection teams in Brussels and Paris, and to one of Africa's largest mobile network operators, where she focused on telecoms, technology, and strategic fintech projects. She has particular strength in interpreting and applying data protection laws across Europe, South Africa, and other African jurisdictions.
