Ntlhane Makena

Ntlhane Makena is an Executive and Head of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Business Rescue practice at ENS, practicing in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. He has particular expertise in business rescue, having acted for various clients in placing companies under business rescue, as well as representing creditors and shareholders of companies under business rescue.

He also specializes in formal and informal restructuring and turnaround, insolvency enquiries into the affairs of companies in liquidation, and drafting liquidation and sequestration applications and proof of claim affidavits on behalf of creditors. He has acted for banks, liquidators, business rescue practitioners, and various corporate clients, and has experience advising on litigious matters arising during the winding up of companies, insolvency enquiries, trial proceedings, and litigation related to companies under business rescue.

He holds an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and an Advanced Certificate in Insolvency Litigation and Administrative Practice, and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Insolvency and Reorganization Law and by Chambers Global in Restructuring and Insolvency.
