Nikita Solanki

Nikita Solanki is an Associate in the Employment and Benefits Practice at Bowmans in Cape Town, specialising in employment law and data protection law. She has experience in both corporate advisory work and litigious matters, including conducting employment due diligences, preparing and advising on employment contracts, reviewing and advising on workplace policies, conducting workplace investigations, and assisting with proceedings at the CCMA and in the Labour Court.

Nikita advises on a wide range of data protection matters, including transferring personal information to holding companies abroad, the sharing of personal information with third parties, the processing of special personal information, and compliance with the provisions of POPIA. She has assisted with due diligence exercises across a range of industries, advised on the employment and benefits consequences of commercial transactions including sales of business and demergers, and advised a large financial service provider on restraint of trade litigation. She has also clerked for Justice Theron and Acting Justice Dodson at the Constitutional Court of South Africa.

Nikita holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Law and History (2017) and a Bachelor of Law (cum laude) (2019) from the University of Cape Town. She is a member of SASLAW and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
