Naqeeba Hassan

Naqeeba Hassan is a Partner at Bowmans in Cape Town, specializing in corporate and commercial law and mergers and acquisitions. She advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including listed and unlisted corporations, private equity funds, asset managers, property developers and financial institutions.

She has acted for a variety of clients on M&A transactions, black economic empowerment transactions, corporate reorganisations and restructurings, and has led legal due diligence investigations across multiple industries. Notable transactions include advising Canal+ on its approximately USD 1.7 billion acquisition of MultiChoice (awarded 'Deal of the Year' by DealMakers 2025 and at the IFLR Africa Awards 2026); advising Nampak Limited on its entire asset disposal strategy in South Africa and other parts of Africa; advising Zeder Investments Limited on the disposal of its shares in Zaad Proprietary Limited for approximately ZAR 1.4 billion; advising Ardagh Group S.A. on its ZAR 15 billion acquisition of Consol Holdings (named 'M&A Deal of the Year' at the IFLR Africa Awards 2022); and advising Old Mutual Wealth on its acquisition of a majority stake in 10x Investments for ZAR 2.2 billion. She has also advised on B-BBEE transactions, including the ZAR 6 billion employee share ownership scheme for PepsiCo Inc., which was named 'Deal of the Year' by Dealmakers 2020.

Naqeeba holds a BA and an LL.B (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
