Lizle Louw

Lizle Louw is a Partner based in Johannesburg. Her primary practice area is Labor Law, and she specialises in collective and individual labour law with a specific focus on the mining industry.

She has previously been appointed as an acting judge in the Labour Court of South Africa. From 2011 to 2016, she was the editor-in-chief of Labour Law for Managers: Practical Handbook, which is widely distributed in South Africa among human resources and employee relations practitioners. She is a fellow of the Association of Arbitrators.

Her recognition includes being named by Chambers Global 2020–2026 as a ranked lawyer, named by Best Lawyers 2017–2026 as a leading individual, named by Legal 500 2024–2025 as a Next Generation Partner, and named by Legal 500 2015–2022 as a legal expert.

She holds an LLB from the University of Johannesburg (1998), a B.Com from the University of Johannesburg (1996) and a Certificate in International Law from the University of Antwerp (1999). She is an admitted attorney and conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa and has been a member of the South African Society for Labour Law since 2006.
