Kirsty Brough

Kirsty Brough is an Associate in the General Finance Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in banking and finance law and infrastructure and project finance. She advises both lenders and borrowers on secured and syndicated finance, fund financing, and structured finance transactions, with a particular focus on renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

Kirsty has assisted Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and Absa Bank Limited on the limited recourse financing of three 77 MW utility-scale battery energy storage facilities in South Africa – the Oasis Mookodi, Oasis Aggeneis, and Oasis Nieuwehoop Battery Storage Facilities. She also assisted Standard Bank of South Africa Limited, Absa Bank Limited, and Nedbank Limited on the limited recourse financing of the 120 MW Paarde Valley PV2 solar photovoltaic power plant and the 140 MW De Aar 2 South Wind Farm. Additionally, she has advised Standard Bank on the financing of the 105 MW (75MWac) Du Plessis Dam Solar PV2 facility and Investec Bank Limited and FirstRand Bank Limited on the financing of a 114 MW solar photovoltaic plant in the Northern Cape.

Kirsty holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Law) and a Bachelor of Law from Stellenbosch University. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
