Gustav van den Berg

Gustav van den Berg is an Executive in the firm's Tax Advisory Law practice at ENS, based in South Africa. He has experience in corporate income tax, international tax, and South African exchange control regulations.

His expertise includes advising clients on setting and reviewing tax strategies, drafting opinions on corporate tax issues, preparing responses to the South African Revenue Service, and advising on mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, and pre- and post-acquisition structuring of transactions. He is also experienced in tax compliance and risk management, as well as international and cross-border tax issues including transfer pricing, and has advised on the tax regimes of Tanzania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Uganda, and Kenya.

Gustav holds a BCom Law, an LLB, and a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Johannesburg, and an Advanced Certificate in Tax Practice from the University of Pretoria. He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and is registered as a Master Tax Practitioner with the South African Institute of Tax Professionals.
