Dion Masher

Dion Masher is an Executive and Head of the Employment practice at ENS, based in Johannesburg, practicing in Employment Law. He has acted in the private sector for industry leaders in the automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction, mining and energy, and manufacturing industries, and has also done extensive work in the public sector for various government departments, Eskom, and the South African Reserve Bank.

He has extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, including restructuring, outsourcing, workplace reorganization, employment issues in M&A, transfer and sale of business and section 197 transfers, employment equity, administrative law, retirement fund issues, collective bargaining, strikes, discrimination, harassment, and restraint of trade. He appears for employers in disputes at the CCMA, Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court, and the Constitutional Court.

Dion holds a BProc, an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Higher Diploma in Labour Law from the University of Johannesburg. He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and has also acted as a Judge in the Labour Court.

He has been recognized by Chambers Global in Employment (South Africa) since 2015, by The Legal 500 EMEA in Employment, and by Best Lawyers in Labour and Employment Law and Employee Benefits Law, having been named Labour and Employment Lawyer of the Year in South Africa from 2008 to 2017.
