Cleo Khan

Cleo Khan is an Associate in the Cape Town office, practicing in the firm's Compliance Law and Corporate Investigations practice. She has gained broad exposure across commercial and regulatory disciplines, with a particular focus on financial crime and investigations, banking and financial services regulatory law, and commercial advisory work.

Ms. Khan has advised a financial services regulator on investigations into possible contraventions of the Exchange Control Regulations involving multiple jurisdictions, supported a repayment administrator appointed by the Prudential Authority under section 84 of the Banks Act in the repayment of funds recovered during investigations, and investigated allegations of fraud and corruption for a client in the mining sector—assisting in the successful launching of legal proceedings to secure and preserve key evidence. She also advises on reporting obligations under the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, including the preparation and submission of mandatory reports to the South African Police Service.

Cleo holds a BCom Law (summa cum laude) and an LLB (magna cum laude) from the University of the Western Cape. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and an affiliate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners South Africa.
