Chris Todd

Chris Todd is a Senior Consultant in the firm's Dispute Resolution practice, based in the Cape Town office. With around 30 years' experience, he helps clients manage serious business conflict, including commercial disputes, employment matters, and internal investigations, often working across borders for multinational businesses growing in Africa.

Mr. Todd has been involved in investigating high-profile corruption matters for state-owned enterprises and gave evidence at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into state capture. He has served as an acting judge of the Labour Court and as an acting Judge of the High Court, Johannesburg. He has also assisted Old Mutual and its board in an investigation resulting in the suspension of the group chief executive and subsequent High Court litigation, and advised Business Unity South Africa on labour market policy and proposed amendments to employment laws.

He holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Cape Town and a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford. He is a trained commercial mediator and negotiation specialist. He has been consistently ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global for Employment law for thirteen consecutive years (2015-2026), and recognized as a Leading Individual by Legal 500 for Labour and Employment.
