Somila Dondashe

Somila Dondashe is an Associate at ENS in the Banking and Finance practice, specialising in Banking and Finance Law. She focuses on debt and equity funding, preference share funding, corporate commercial transactions and commercial real estate transactions.

Somila has experience advising on debt and equity financing, corporate commercial transactions and property funding transactions, with exposure to private equity, venture capital and corporate finance sectors. She acts for local and international banks, institutional investors, borrowers and issuers on syndicated loans, secured and unsecured debt, and structured finance transactions, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives. She has developed a particular interest in preference share funding, including structuring and issuing preference shares with a focus on dividend rights, redemption features and the balancing of equity holder and creditor interests.

Somila holds a Bachelor of Social Science and an LL.B. from the University of Cape Town. She is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
