Sebastian Petersen

Sebastian Petersen is an Attorney at Dentons in South Africa, practicing in the Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Banking and Finance groups, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. Sebastian has advised on numerous significant transactions, including advising KPS Capital Partners on the acquisition of the coatings division of BASF; advising Motorola Solutions Inc. on the acquisition of RapidDeploy, including exchange control approval for IP export; advising Platinum Equity on the acquisition of a high‑temperature solutions business involving target entities across multiple jurisdictions; advising Eskom Holdings SOC Limited on power purchase agreements under the Risk Mitigation Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme; and advising Standard Chartered Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on a US$500 million revolving credit facility. He also advised on the financing of a mining company in the DRC, BEE‑driven restructurings, and numerous cross‑border equity and debt financings.

He holds an LL.B from the University of the Western Cape (2020) and completed a short course in Principles of Investment Finance at Copenhagen Business School (2020). He was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2025.
