Perusha Pillay

Perusha Pillay is a Senior Consultant at Bowmans in Durban, practicing in the Dispute Resolution department. She has extensive experience in general commercial disputes, insolvency and liquidation matters, and has represented a London/Johannesburg dual‑listed coal mining company, government parastatals, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies in litigation.

Perusha has acted for the defendant in the largest class action matter in South Africa, acted for the applicant in a large customs and excise matter against the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Services, and represented one of the largest African private hospital groups and one of the country's largest beverage manufacturers in a range of commercial and contractual disputes. She has also been appointed to the drafting committee for the Hindu Marriages Bill.

She holds an LL.B from the University of KwaZulu‑Natal and is an accredited mediator, having completed the Commercial Mediation Accreditation Programme with the Africa Centre for Dispute Settlement in association with Stellenbosch University.
