Meluleki Nzimande

Meluleki Nzimande is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specializing in International Trade Law. He advises on all aspects of international trade and investment law, including anti‑dumping, safeguard and other trade remedy investigations under South African law, WTO law, and international agreements such as the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and the Southern African Customs Union.

Meluleki is the former Chief Commissioner of the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC), where he was involved in negotiating sector masterplans, including the Sugar masterplan and the Retail, Clothing, Textile, Footwear and Leather masterplan, and spearheaded the introduction of export taxes on scrap metal. He advises on preferences and rules of origin under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement and has addressed workshops across Southern, East and West Africa on the AfCFTA. He is a Fellow of the Cyrus Vance Institute for International Justice Initiatives, having spent a year in the corporate department of Skadden Arps in New York.

He holds an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand (2002) and a B.Sc from the same institution (1994). He is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
