Lehlogonolo Kgopa

Lehlogonolo Kgopa is an Associate at Bowmans' Johannesburg office, practising in the firm's Litigation and Arbitration practice with experience in multi-party disputes, local South African court litigation, and cross-border matters involving multiple jurisdictions and procedural frameworks.

His experience includes drafting motion and action proceedings, appearing in the Magistrates' Court, negotiating and preparing settlement agreements, and developing practical, outcome-focused litigation strategies across sectors including mining, construction, hospitality, banking and project finance. Notable matters include assisting in High Court proceedings for the recognition of an international arbitration award successfully supporting the recognition of a USD 3,482,150 (ZAR 56,902,161.36) award, and being part of a team acting for a client in High Court tender review proceedings relating to a construction tender valued at ZAR 11 billion. In the construction space, he has reviewed and drafted construction contracts including JBCC, FIDIC and PROCSA agreements, and has advised on project finance matters including the Khauta South and West Projects, the largest solar facility in Southern Africa. He has also advised financial services providers on regulatory compliance and pension fund claims from the Government Employees Pension Fund.

Lehlogonolo holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand (2024) and was admitted as an Attorney of South Africa in 2026.
