Janine Howard

Janine Howard is a Partner at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in private mergers and acquisitions with an emphasis on private equity investment. She leads and closes cross-border transactions across multiple jurisdictions and acts across a variety of sectors, including financial services, logistics, food and agriculture, technology, mining and renewable resources.

She also regularly acts as counsel for underwriters in W&I insurance transactions across the South African and broader African markets. Notable transactions include advising Sango Capital Partners on its acquisition of Neopak Holdings from Ethos Fund VI, advising Mahlako Gas Energy on its acquisition of a minority stake in Tetra4, advising Bidvest Group Limited on its acquisition of the Noonan management group in Ireland, and advising Coca-Cola Beverages Africa on its acquisition of Castel Malawi's Southern Bottlers.

Janine holds an LL.M. in Private Law (Mineral Law), an LL.B, and a BA Law from the University of Cape Town.
