Chandni Gopal is a Partner at Bowmans in the Johannesburg office, specialising in Corporate Compliance. She focuses on cross‑jurisdictional dispute resolution and cross‑border investigations and compliance, with over 18 years' experience in commercial dispute resolution, arbitration and judicial review.

Chandni has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, public law and infrastructure development across Africa, having litigated high‑profile and complex matters at every tier of the South African justice system. She has developed expertise across numerous sectors, including energy (mining and oil and gas), construction, project finance and procurement. Her practice often involves complex, multi‑party disputes, large‑scale investigations and risk‑based compliance reviews for clients operating across multiple jurisdictions, as well as advising on cross‑border investigations and litigation support.

Chandni holds an LL.M. in Public Interest Law and Policy (magna cum laude) from UCLA (2017), an LL.B. (cum laude) and a B.Com (Law) (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand (2012, 2010). She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and served as a legal researcher to Justice Edwin Cameron at the Constitutional Court of South Africa. She is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
