André Erasmus

André Erasmus is an Executive at ENS in the Tax practice, specialising in customs and excise law and international trade. He advises clients across a diverse range of industries, including banking, trade and retail, as well as importers, exporters, and local manufacturers, on anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard measures, duty protection and relief mechanisms, international trade agreements, and World Customs Organization and World Trade Organization agreements.

He has extensive experience in customs and excise law, providing strategic legal counsel on complex international trade matters and regulatory compliance. He has co‑authored the chapter on South Africa in “Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation, Two Worlds Apart” published by IBFD, and has lectured on unfair trade at Stellenbosch University. He has also presented seminars on the South African Customs Control and Customs Duty Bills and on the implications of international commercial terms on customs, VAT, and exchange control. He is a member of Business Unity South Africa’s task team on the Customs Control and Customs Duty Bills.

He holds a BCom and LLB from the University of Pretoria.
