Ulrich Grobler

Ulrich Grobler is an Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in dispute resolution, construction and infrastructure litigation, and commercial arbitration. Ulrich has been involved in urgent High Court proceedings concerning the enforcement of USD 21 million in on-demand performance guarantees arising from a major cross-border EPC project procured under the FIDIC Silver Book; ICC arbitration proceedings on behalf of the O&M contractor of a large-scale solar PV facility concerning non-payment of approximately R30.5 million for certified remedial and additional works; urgent High Court proceedings for an independent power producer opposing recovery of equipment from a solar PV facility; and an ongoing arbitration proceeding arising from the sale and cession of insurance-related recovery claims. He also assists on sensitive corporate and financial crime matters, including confidential internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and compliance-related reviews, and has supported a major South African financial institution on historical financing arrangements and associated regulatory exposure.

Ulrich holds an LL.B from Stellenbosch University and a BCom (Law) from Pearson Institute of Higher Education (now Eduvos).
