Summer Scribante

Summer Scribante is a Senior Associate at Bowmans in Durban, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. She has experience in drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, circulars, shareholders agreements, memoranda of incorporation, joint venture agreements, lease agreements, and other M&A-related documentation, with a strong focus on company law and corporate governance.

Summer has advised SAS Shipping Agencies Services S.à r.l. on the recommended cash acquisition of Mediclinic International plc by Manta Bidco Limited; Alexander Forbes Group Holdings Limited on the acquisition of a strategic minority interest by Prudential Financial Inc and Leapfrog Investments Group, and on the sale of its linked investment service provider business to Sanlam Life Insurance; Absa Bank Limited and EFS Namibia on the sale of the Edcon store card portfolios to RCS Cards; Vitol Mauritius Limited on the sale of its interest in Terminal de Carvão da Matola to Grindrod Mauritius; MTN Group on the sale of 50% of its interest in aYo Holdings to Sanlam; Invictus Education Group on the introduction of Sommet Education as a shareholder; Brookfield Asset Management on the sale of renewable power projects to the Globeleq group; and PPC South Africa on the sale of its entire shareholding in PPC Lime to Kgatelopele Lime.

Summer holds a BA (Law) and an LL.B (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch.
