Mark Kyle

Mark Kyle is a Senior Consultant at Bowmans in Durban, specialising in banking and finance law, acquisition finance, debt restructuring, and cross‑border financing. He advises on preference share financings, debt restructurings, and complex cross‑border transactions, acting for lenders, borrowers, and noteholders across a wide range of industries.

Mark has acted for noteholders in the Land Bank restructure; for banks in the AfriSam debt restructure; for mandated lead arrangers in Liquid Telecom's global debt and capital markets fundraising; for Famous Brands on its GBP 122 million acquisition of GBK Restaurants; for Truworths on its USD 382 million acquisition of Office Retail Group; for Brait Mauritius on its GBP 800 million acquisition of New Look; and for Harmony Gold Mining Company on its USD 300 million funding for capital expenditure in Papua New Guinea and Australia. He has extensive experience across senior and mezzanine term loan financing, trade working capital facilities, and export credit facilities, including a USD 67.5 million facility for the Zimbabwean Beitbridge border post project.

Mark holds a BA and an LL.B from the University of Stellenbosch. He has passed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme and is dual‑qualified as an English lawyer.
