Marga Jordaan

Marga Jordaan is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department at Bowmans in the Johannesburg office, specialising in Mining Law. She focuses on mining and environmental law, advising mining companies on regulatory compliance, appeals and review applications relating to mining rights, environmental authorisations and water use licences.

Marga has been involved in environmental due diligence investigations for significant mining transactions and advises on the application of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act to historic tailings disposal facilities. She drafts appeals under mining and environmental legislation and has assisted companies in urgent interdict applications to halt illegal mining activities. She also conducts high-level environmental and mining legal compliance audits.

Marga holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Environmental Law and Governance from the North-West University, as well as short course certificates in Environmental Management and Regulation. She was admitted as an attorney in 2015 and as a notary in 2017.
