Lorica Elferink

Lorica Elferink is a Director specialising in corporate and commercial law, company and securities law, governance, and corporate transactions. She advises private and listed domestic and international clients on listings, public offers, schemes of arrangement, mergers and demergers, restructurings, private acquisitions, joint ventures, and supply, transport and logistics agreements, with a particular focus on the consumer goods, food and retail, insurance, and financial services sectors. She has also served as a guest lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch.

She has advised FirstRand on the transfer of clients, banking assets and liabilities, and employees of HSBC's branch in South Africa to FirstRand Bank, one of the bidders for the acquisition of the South African subsidiary of Shell plc, and the shareholder of a manufacturer of intermodal ISO tank, bulk liquid shipping and transport containers on the disposal of its shares and loan claims by way of a restructuring.

Lorica holds an LL.M from Cambridge University (2003), an LL.B from Stellenbosch University (1999), and a Certificate in Advanced Company and Securities Law from UNISA (2010). She is a member of the Legal Practice Council.
