Kirsten Paulo

Kirsten Paulo is a Consultant in the Banking and Finance Department of the Cape Town office and a member of the firm's Fintech Law and Financial Services Regulatory practice. She specialises in all aspects of financial services regulation, including banking, payment services, investment management, and fintech, advising local and foreign clients on the Financial Sector Regulation Act, FAIS, CISCA, the Banks Act, FICA, the National Payment Systems Act, and the National Credit Act.

Ms. Paulo assists clients with registration as financial services providers, collective investment schemes, hedge funds, and credit providers, and regularly advises leading foreign investment banks and asset management firms on their service offerings to the South African market. She also advises on outsourcing arrangements in the financial services sector and drafts Risk Management and Compliance Programmes under FICA, providing training on related obligations.

She holds an LLB degree (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
