Joshua Lipman

Joshua Lipman is an Associate at Bowmans in Cape Town, specializing in Aviation Law. He advises on aviation and general insurance disputes and commercial litigation, acting for domestic and international airlines, helicopter operators, logistics providers, and a broad range of insurers.

Joshua's experience spans aviation accidents, cargo loss claims, foreign operator licensing, and insurance coverage disputes, with proceedings before the High Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal, and international arbitration panels. He has acted in litigation involving fatal aircraft accidents in South Africa, including representing a helicopter operator and its liability insurers in High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal proceedings, and representing helicopter owners and operators in proceedings against a foreign manufacturer following a fatal accident. He also advises on property damage, business interruption, trade credit, and hull insurance coverage, as well as aircraft acquisition and financing matters.
